Autonomous Robot

Strawberry Shortcake

As part of MAE 3780: Mechatronics, we were tasked with creating a robot that ran on an Arduino microcontroller and autonomously collected blocks while competing against another robot from our class. It used color sensors to get feedback on where it was on the multicolor board shown below. The code was written in C and utilized registers and bit masks to achieve faster reaction times and write efficient commands. I worked with on a team of 3 where I fell into the role of coding while my partners focused on the mechanical design and electrical integration. We all helped each other in our roles and made this robot that did its job! We were also featured in an article capturing us in working in the lab and reflecting on the class.
